Saraswatichandra is an Indian soap opera which airs on Star Plus & DD National every mon-Fri at 7:30 pm. The series premiered on February 25, 2013. The story is based on the famous Gujarati novel Saraswatichandra written by Govardhanram Tripathi. The protagonists of the show are portrayed by Gautam Rode and Jennifer Winget. On February 14, 2013, the exclusive premiere trailer of the show was aired as a Valentine's Day special on the Star Plus Facebook page. The exclusive web premiere, which aired at 3:00 pm garnered approximately 10, 49, 563 hits in a short span. The show is quite a big hit in the U.K. and pulled an incredible 2, 89, 400 viewers – peaking at 3, 36, 900 viewers – one of the biggest ever ratings for a Star Plus fiction. It often gets good TRPs per week, making it a big grosser for both channels Star Plus and DD National in India and U.K.. The series is produced by famous film producer Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
